DR MAKANJUOLA OBISAKIN
Dr Makanjuola Obisakin is a counselling psychologist and a director in the Ministry of Education of Osun State, Nigeria. His PhD thesis was on intimate partner abuse, and it is affecting university students in the southwest of Nigeria. He was a schoolteacher for 36 years and a Principal of a high school in Nigeria.
Prof. Toyin Mejuini
Prof. Olutoyin Mejiuni is a Nigerian independent feminist scholar, activist, and retired professor of adult education and women’s studies from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), where she worked for 36½ years. She co-founded Women Against Rape, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual Exploitation (WARSHE) to support survivors of sexual violence.
Dr Grace Pelemo
Dr Grace Pelemo is a senior librarian at Osun State University in Osun State, Nigeria. She worked as a schoolteacher for some years before proceeding to Osun State University as a librarian. She is a member of some professional bodies, and she has volunteered with the Women Inspiration Development Center since 2011.
BUSAYO OBISAKIN
Busayo Obisakin, a counselling psychologist, is the founder, CEO, and current executive director of the Women Inspiration Development Center. With 29 years of experience in individual and group counselling, she is a seasoned expert in gender equality and gender mainstreaming. Busayo holds certifications in the Agency Development Workshop, Gender Aids Effectiveness, and Gender Preparedness in Humanitarian Action, complemented by 11 years of extensive work in gender-related initiatives.
She serves as the country director in Nigeria for the international initiative IMAGINE “Delivery Agency”, where her efforts have empowered 7,245 women and girls. Busayo’s remarkable contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the Organization Award in 2015, the World Pulse Voices of Our Future Correspondent honor, and the 2009 Award Recipient recognition
